Seven Sons - Single Malt - Aged 8 Years - Double Cask (Oloroso & PX) Finish

This release for the Seven Sons range is from a Highland Distillery.

Aged 8 years, 70cl, 57.1% vol

A small batch created from Single Malt that has been married from 2 x quarter casks which were used to finish this whisky for 2 1/2 years in our warehouse. (1 x American Oak, Oloroso and 1 x American Oak, PX)

No chill filtration. Natural colour.

Nose: Wheetos, dried red apple, cranberries and apricot, raisin, brown sugar and clove.

Palate - Allspice, chai, golden syrup, milky coffee and poached red fruit. 

Finish - There’s a dry element again but with an underlying sweetness from the addition of PX. Oak is a lot more prominent in this case, with a bitter/spice effect towards the end.
